"A Message ..."

The Administrative Services Bureau is the support branch of the Inglewood Police Department. We are tasked with operating the Police Communications Division, Custody Division, Personnel / Training Division along with the Property Unit, Fiscal Management Unit and the Grants Administration Unit.

The Administrative Services Bureau occupies a critical function in departmental operations. The Communications, Records and Custody Divisions provide front line support. Working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, these divisions assist the department, dispatching emergency calls, operating the Jail and managing all of the associated reports and records required to move cases, paperwork and people through the Criminal Justice System.

The Property Unit stores, catalogs and manages more than 50,000 evidence items collected by the Department’s Officers and Detectives annually. The unit manages seized evidence until such time that it is transferred to the court or ordered destroyed.

The Fiscal Management Unit handles the Department’s Payroll, Purchasing and Accounts Payable Sections. This unit ensures that our employees are paid biweekly, purchases all equipment and services, and pays the vendors that keep the department operating.

The Personnel / Training Division is divided into two functions. The Human Resources Unit is responsible for recruiting, pre-employment investigations and hiring of all police employee’s. The unit also manages the personnel files of all Police Department employees.

The Training Unit is responsible for the coordination and management of training to the department’s entire staff from entry-level recruits to the executive level of the department. The unit insures that the department meets or exceeds the level of training mandated the State of California’s Commission on Police Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.).

The Administrative Services Bureau is tasked with hiring the department’s staff and ensuring they are trained, accurately paid, properly equipped and supported. The Administrative Services Bureau is committed to “Making the Difference,” protecting the citizens of this great community.
