OVERVIEW
The Inglewood Police
Department’s Vice Section was created in 2005 to address
serious quality of life related issues in the
community. The Section is comprised of a Sergeant and a
team of investigators.
The Vice Section is
responsible for the investigation and enforcement
relating to the following types of crimes:
PROSITITUTION
Enforcement of
street level and massage parlor prostitution such as
pimping, pandering and human trafficking.
In 2004 there were
23 massage related businesses operating as houses of
prostitution. To date, Vice Investigators have
successfully closed all of the problem locations.
LEWD AND
LACIVIOUS ACTIVITY
Lewd conduct at
parks, bookstores and other locations known for such
activity. Vice personnel routinely conduct “Operation
Safe Park”, which are sting operations that target lewd
conduct at City parks.
ALCOHOL AND
BEVERAGE CONTROL (ABC)
Enforce and ensure
compliance of all ABC licensed establishments in
Inglewood. Vice personnel routinely conduct ABC related
undercover operations, including those operations that
address underage consumption of alcohol by minors.
GAMING

Oversee gaming
operations at the Hollywood Park Casino and the
Hollywood Park Racetrack.
HOMELAND
SECURITY
Vice personnel serve
as the Police Department’s Terrorism Liaison Officer (TLO)
and are responsible for investigating all Homeland
Security matters. Vice personnel network and train with
Local, State, and Federal law enforcement agencies on a
monthly basis in order to ensure the safety of the
community.
In 2006, the Vice
Section founded the South Bay Regional Criminal
Intelligence Network to enhance intelligence information
sharing with regard to international and domestic
terrorism, organized crime, prostitution, protest
actions and crime trends affecting South Bay law
enforcement agencies.
INTELLIGENCE
Monitor and gather
intelligence information on labor disputes, marches,
rallies and other events that have an affect on
Inglewood.
INTELLECTUAL

targeting counterfeit and piracy of DVD, CD’s and
clothing merchandise.
